Rescues Available for Adoption

Our primary focus is Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) to gradually reduce numbers as well as helping the stray dogs to live on the streets through feeding undernourished or sick animals and providing medical assistance on the street wherever possible. Therefore, if you see any dogs here for homing, you know that these little dogs are truly in need of a home and were not able to make it on the street on their own.

If you are able to offer any of our wonderful dogs a loving home please do contact us. We are able to arrange the necessary documentation and travel arrangements for international adoptions.

Dogs for Adoption

With so few desirable homes available here in Bulgaria, we are currently looking for contacts particularly in Europe to assist with re-homing our dogs in Europe.  All have been vaccinated and have the necessary documentation for travel.

Sarka - female

Sarka

Sarka is what you call a 100% survivor! She was rescued 3 years ago when she was found so badly beaten that she could only lift her head and was paralysed from the waist down. She has since learned how to walk using a homemade wheelchair and has recently been able to bring herself to standing position and taken her first steps with her hind legs; a sign that the paralysis may be slowly lifting. Born around September 2006, she is a medium-large sized dog (height 54cm).

Sarka has feeling in her back legs yet seems to have forgotten how to use them - we feel she now needs an alternative approach such as hydrotherapy and homeopathy to complete her rehabilitation, so she is suitable for true animal lovers who can attend to her special needs. She is such a loving dog who is totally worth and deserving of this attention and anyone who can provide her with a loving home and the next steps for her full recovery will reap the rewards for her ten fold!

You will not find a more loving dog than Sarka as she holds no grudges against anyone. She is satisfied simply lounging in the sun, chewing on bones and lounging in her newly built enclosure. BUT we want so much more for her, she deserves as much help as we can give her and the opportunity to do the one thing most of us take for granted – WALK!

This is why we have started the “Let’s get Sarka walking again” campaign to try and give her a better quality of life and an increased chance of a loving forever home.

Opi was found shot in his thigh in January 2009. His wound has completely healed and he no longer limps. Opi is an extremely friendly dog who enjoys the company of canines, felines and people. Born around May 2007 he is a large dog (height 65cm).

He greets people by 'singing' and threading in their feet. He is a very gentle and calm dog. He is not protective of his food bowl and doesn't show any aggression. He walks well on a leash and comes back when you call him. He likes playing with other dogs

Watson - male

Watson has been at the rescue centre since February of 2007.  He was found stumbling around the streets because he is blind due to a possible birth defect (he is able to make out some shapes). Born around June 2005, he is a medium sized dog (height 51cm) with a similar face to a bloodhound, certainly hound like anyway. He is kind, gentle and perfectly house-trained.

This wonderful dog needs a loving home somewhere safe, where things are always in the same place, so that he can learn his way around and gain confidence in his surroundings. Although he is blind, he is friendly even to strangers and he trusts people. He has never showed any aggression to another dog, animal or person.
